How we judged (and our bias, disclosed)

We're on this list, so read us with the same skepticism you'd read anyone ranking themselves. To keep it honest, every company is judged on the same five questions: Is the design actually custom? Do you own the site if you leave? Can search engines and AI systems read it (schema, speed, content architecture)? What does it really cost? And who is it genuinely best for?

Pricing below comes from vendor sites and independent reviews like AgentAdvice and HousingWire as of mid-2026 — always confirm current terms directly.

The list

  • Luxury Presence — best for luxury branding inside a platform. Genuinely beautiful custom design, IDX, and a full suite (CRM, app, CMAs). Trade-offs: pricing isn't published (reviews report ~$300–$1,500/mo plus $3,500–$5,000 setup), and the site lives on their platform — leave, and you're rebuilding.
  • Agent Image — best custom WordPress you own. Long-running design shop; project-priced builds on the open-source platform, so the site is genuinely yours. You'll assemble SEO/content help separately.
  • AgentFire — best value for hyperlocal sites. From ~$129/mo with no setup fee; strong neighborhood-guide DNA. Lighter on done-for-you marketing.
  • Sierra Interactive — best for SEO-driven teams. IDX + CRM platform (~$500–$700/mo plus setup) with a reputation for search-friendly architecture. Platform lock-in applies.
  • Real Geeks — best budget all-in-one. ~$299/mo for IDX, CRM, valuations, and ad tools. Templated look; you're renting.
  • CitedRealty — best for being found by AI, and for ownership. Custom, schema-first sites with neighborhood architecture built in, designed to be the source ChatGPT and AI Overviews cite. Included with our $3,999/mo Local Hero plan (or as a standalone project); you own the site outright. We're new and website design is one piece of our retainer — if you want a website alone with no marketing engine, Agent Image or AgentFire may fit better.

The two questions that sort the whole market

Ownership: platforms (Luxury Presence, Sierra, Real Geeks) rent you a site that vanishes when you churn; builders (Agent Image, CitedRealty) hand you the keys. Renting is fine for speed; just price in the rebuild when you leave.

Machine readability: in 2026 your website's biggest audience might be AI systems deciding who to recommend. Ask any vendor: what structured data ships by default? How do neighborhood pages work? Can you show me a site being cited in AI answers? Blank stares are data.
